Projects & Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in. It lists all the projects you have access to within your organisation and gives you quick access to create new ones.
The project list
Projects can be displayed as a grid of cards or a compact list. Use the grid/list toggle in the top-right of the toolbar to switch views.
Grid view — each card shows:
- Thumbnail — a preview image, or a coloured placeholder if none has been set
- Project name and description
- Your role in that project (Owner, Editor, Contributor, or Viewer)
- Member count — how many people have access
- Last modified date
List view — each row shows the same information in a condensed single-line format, useful when you have many projects.
Click a card or row to open the project in the 3D viewer.
Searching and filtering
The toolbar above the project list gives you three ways to narrow what you see:
| Control | Options |
|---|---|
| Search | Type any part of a project name or description to filter in real time |
| Filter | All, My Projects (projects you own), Shared with me (projects owned by others) |
| Sort | Last modified, Name A–Z, Name Z–A, Newest, Oldest |
Your last-used filter, sort, and view preferences are remembered across sessions.
Card menu
Hover over a card and click the ⋯ icon to access project actions. Which options appear depends on your role:
| Action | Who can use it |
|---|---|
| Open | Everyone |
| Edit (name / description) | Owner, Editor |
| Share (invite members) | Owner, Editor |
| Duplicate | Everyone |
| Settings | Owner only |
| Delete | Owner only |
Deleting a project moves it to Trash — it is not immediately permanent. Deleted projects can be restored from Trash within 90 days. See Trash for details.
Creating a project
- Click Create Project (top-right of the dashboard).
- Select a template — choose from Blank (empty project) or one of the pre-configured planning templates. Templates add relevant data layers automatically. See Project Templates for the full list.
- Enter a name (2–100 characters, required).
- Optionally add a description (up to 500 characters).
- Click Create.
The project opens immediately in the viewer. You are automatically the Owner.
Each user can have up to 20 projects. Contact your organisation administrator if you need more.
Project settings
Open the project settings page via Settings in the card menu, or from the back-arrow link at the top of any open project. The settings page is divided into tabs:
General
Edit the project name and description. Changes are saved immediately when you click Save. Only Owners and Editors can edit these fields.
Members
View current members, change roles, remove members, and invite new people. See Project Members for full details.
Activity
A log of the 50 most recent actions taken in the project. Each entry shows:
- Who performed the action
- What they did (imported a layer, created a scenario, etc.)
- How long ago it happened
Logged events include layer imports, scenario changes, and comment activity.
Trash
Deleted layers, scenarios, and comments within this project. Owners and Editors can restore items from here. See Trash for details.
Danger Zone
Available to project Owners only. Contains two destructive actions:
- Transfer ownership — reassign the Owner role to another project member. After the transfer you become an Editor, and the new owner takes full control of the project.
- Delete project — permanently moves the project to Trash. You must type DELETE (all caps) to confirm.
Dashboard sidebar
The left sidebar is always visible on the Dashboard. It contains:
- Projects — returns you to the main project list
- Profile — manage your display name, avatar, and password
- Organisation Settings — visible to organisation admins only
- Trash — view and restore deleted projects
- Docs — opens this documentation site
- Theme toggle — switch between light and dark mode
- Sign out
Activity feed
The project activity feed is accessible from the Activity tab in Project Settings. It shows the 50 most recent actions in the project and is available to all project members.
