IFC Building Models

IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) layers display detailed building models imported from BIM software. Expand the layer in the Layers panel to control visibility per floor and adjust the model appearance.

Model information

Click the expand arrow on an IFC layer row in the Layers panel to reveal its options. Near the top you'll see:

  • Building name
  • IFC schema version and total element count (for example, IFC2X3 — 153 elements)

Opacity

Adjust the overall transparency of the building model (0–100%).

X-ray mode

Toggle X-ray mode to make the building semi-transparent, letting you see through walls and floors. This is useful for inspecting interior layouts or overlapping elements.

Storey visibility

IFC style editor storey visibility section with checkbox and elevation

Each building floor is listed with its name and elevation in metres. Use the checkboxes to show or hide individual storeys.

This is useful for:

  • Viewing a single floor plan in isolation
  • Comparing different levels of a multi-storey building
  • Hiding underground levels to focus on above-ground structure

Element type visibility

note

Per-element-type filtering (e.g. showing only walls, hiding slabs) is coming soon. A preview of this feature is visible in the style editor but not yet active.
