Map Legend
A floating legend appears automatically in the bottom-left of the viewer when one or more layers use data-driven colouring.
When the legend appears
The legend shows when any visible layer uses:
- Gradient colour styling — displays the colour ramp with min/max values
- From dataset colour styling — displays colour swatches with category labels
- Heatmap layers — displays the density colour ramp
- Building dataset colouring — displays gradient swatches, category swatches, or boolean swatches for each active building dataset style
Controls
- Each legend entry shows the layer name and field name
- Click the collapse arrow next to the "Legend" title to minimise the whole panel
- If more than one layer has data-driven colouring, the legend becomes a carousel — use the
</>arrows to switch between layers, and the dots at the bottom show how many layers have a legend
note
The legend updates automatically when you change a layer's colour settings, toggle layer visibility, or switch scenarios.
The same legend appears in public share links. Recipients can read the saved layer styling and compare categories or value ranges without signing in.
